Hey, Need Help?

Alright, I'm looking for a tactful way for my vampire (in my story) to kill someone and drink his blood, without the reader figuring out he was a vampire. i've considerd him talking to someone, and they are like "where were you?" and he's like "hunting" and they notice a flack of blood on his lower lip and on his teeth. Good idea or not?
